Dr. Giulio Guagliumi

Dr. Giulio Guagliumi is the director of Interventional Cardiology at Ospedale Papa Giovanni XXIII, Bergamo, Italy. He has a long-standing research expertise in the field of high-resolution intravascular imaging, acute myocardial infarction and stent. He’s a pioneer in clinical use of light-based imaging for evaluating coronary atherosclerosis and stenting. Dr. Guagliumi held technical live training courses across the world in use of intracoronary imaging to guide complex coronary interventions, including left main, severely calcified lesions and diffuse disease. He has authored 257 peer-reviewed publications in cardiovascular research and clinical trials across all prestigious cardiology journals. He was president of the Italian Society of Invasive Cardiology, co-chair of the scientific program in interventional cardiology at the ESC Congress and past secretary of the European Association of Percutaneous Intervention (EAPCI).
